Conference Programme

A preliminary program has been prepared. It has been organized to promote in-depth discussion and detailed examination of the state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice in transport survey methods. Sixteen workshops have been developed to address topical issues in survey methods. The programme also includes several social and recreational events that serve not only to enable delegates to enjoy the region but also to engender the informal exchange of information and ideas among delegates.

New for this conference is the opportunity to attend, at no additional cost, the final meeting of the European COST Action 355. COST, which stands for cooperation in scientific and technological research, is an intergovernmental framework that has coordinated nationally funded research in Europe since 1971. Transport has been one of the major areas of research activity. COST Action 355: Changing Behavior Towards a More Sustainable Transportation System is analyzing conditions that could reverse the growth in unsustainable transport demand by changing the behaviors of travelers, shippers, and carriers. The final meeting of COST Action 355 will be held in conjunction with the 2008 conference. Among other topics of this final meeting is a focus on National Travel Surveys.
